Parents Helpline

Parentline Plus is a national charity that works for, and with, parents. They know that parents want to do the best they can for their children, but sometimes family life can be challenging and difficult. There is after all, no one right way to parent. Their service includes a 24 hr, 7 day a week confidential helpline. They can be contacted on 0808 800 2222. Their website offers  topical information for parents from the new baby stage to teens and beyond. They can be found at www.parentlineplus.org.uk or www.gotateenager.org.uk

Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey

Since the death of the last three known surviving Service veterans of World War I earlier this year, the Government has announced it's plans to commemorate the passing of the WWI generation. A date has been set for the National Memorial Service which will take place on Wednesday November 11th. Extensive coverage on national television will enable people across the country, young and old to share in the experience.Various educational resources have been available in school and there is also additional information on www.passingofthegeneration.org.uk/. Let's make November 11th 2009 a time to share in a National acknowledgement of the final passing of a generation so deserving of our respect and gratitude.
